This popular summer series has been running since 2020, beginning in Silverton before relocating to Centennial Park in New Denver. The series offers locals and visitors high-quality outdoor concerts in the beautiful new bandstand at Centennial Park.
Centennial Park is also home to a destination campground situated along the shores of stunning Slocan Lake. Two additional nearby campgrounds in Silverton and Rosebery further attract visitors to the area, many of whom attend the concerts.
SLAC is fortunate to work with a talented New Denver–based sound engineer who provides professional sound equipment and expert mixing. SLAC President Martine denBok, herself a professional musician, maintains extensive connections within the music community, which greatly assists in securing exceptional talent.
Musicians consistently praise Music in the Park, noting the quality of the bandstand, professional sound, enthusiastic audiences, and breathtaking natural setting. While many performers express interest in returning, SLAC strives to keep the programming fresh each year by featuring new talent. Audience feedback has been overwhelmingly positive, with frequent compliments on both sound and performance quality. Most performers hail from the Kootenays, with occasional artists joining us from further afield.
