Town Architecture from Kaslo, and the Slocan Lake Arts Council have been working hard on plans to improve the accessibility, energy efficiency and user experience of the Silverton Gallery (aka Slocan Lake Arts Centre). We are excited to present these conceptual plans to the public!

Come to the open house on October 11th to find out what the future may hold for the Silverton Gallery. Community members, art lovers, construction workers, business owners, artists, and others; we value everyone's visions, knowledge and feedback!

Over the past 16 years, Gabriel has emerged as a leading figure in the modern global Latin-jazz, Afro-Cuban, and tango-jazz scenes, gracing numerous critically acclaimed albums and prestigious festivals and venues worldwide. Recognized for his exceptional talent as both composer and performer, he has garnered praise from esteemed platforms such as Rolling Stone and Billboard Magazine. "White Lightning" is the only concert of the Sunset Series that the Slocan Lake Arts Council has kept on the agenda, so come dance to this Blues, Rock and Boogie band!!

The Painting as Meditation workshop will take place at Kohan Reflection Garden as well as Nikkei Internment Memorial Centre (NIMC)—two Japanese Historic Sites in New Denver. The medium that Donna Hicks will use is watercolor.

This SUMI Workshop is one of three Nikkei Art Excursions offered to you by SLAC this Summer.

Come join local theatre teacher Lisa Dery for a dynamic afternoon filled with all things THEATRE. Games, theory and a chance to perform in front of peers.

Come join this unique dance exploration workshop in the scenic fields of the Harris Ranch—with dancer  Rachel Harris accompanied by Paul “Garbanzo” Gibbons playing the bamboo flutes. Rachel Harris will guide participants  in a dance exploration over her family’s ranch, combined with storytelling of the land and the role it played during the Internment of Japanese Canadians.

This Dance Exploration Workshop is one of three Nikkei Art Excursions offered to you by SLAC this Summer.

We are excited to finally be back in The Silverton Gallery for a reading of the book "They Called Him a Radical", written by local author Vera Maloff. This is a beautiful memoir of Pete Maloff, the author's Doukhobor Grandfather, and his adherence to the moral truth "thou shalt not kill".

Come learn about our local past while helping to support the future of the arts and heritage in Silverton. This special screening of the documentary "The Last Stop, Canada's Lost Locomotive" will be followed by a Q&A with the director of the film.
